Roderick Y. Watkins is an Associate Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia under direction and supervision at Standard of Care Psychological services. Roderick received a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Argosy University in 2005. Utilizing a variety of counseling techniques, Roderick assist people in making sense of difficult experiences and resolving maladaptive behaviors with the objective of placing individuals in a greater position to achieve their goals.
Roderick uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Existential Therapy to treat Mental Health issues and life issues (correlating with relationships, careers, finances, life transitions and heredity).
Roderick specializes in multicultural backgrounds, people of color and LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender) Individuals. Previously, Roderick worked at Prehab Arizona and Compass Mental Health providing Biopsychosocial assessments and treatment to clients (children, adolescences, & adults) with mental health and psychoactive substance use issues. He has an extensive background in facilitating and instructing courses such as, Dealing With Difficult People, Managing Emotions Under Pressure & Creative Leadership for Managers, Supervisors & Team Leaders, while working as a Professional Trainer for Fred Pryor Seminars.
